Let’s be honest...it wasn’t THE Oval Office. But it was the Oval Office replica at a Presidential Library, something I highly recommend everyone visit at some point, regardless of which ex-President’s library it is (and whether you feel that President was a good one or a bad one).
The Oval Office replica is part of every Presidential Library and is easily the most popular room of the building. There’s no wonder why, since being in the Oval Office is something every American (and maybe lots of people in other countries) dream of experiencing.
It’s incredible how small the room feels when you’re in it. The room is an exact replica, with the same dimensions and even the same decorations used by that President. But even knowing that you’re not in the real White House doesn’t diminish the experience much at all.
I assume the experience in all the Presidential Library Oval Offices is the same. You get to spend as much time in the room as you’d like, sit behind the replica of the Resolute Desk (or whichever desk that President used), and have your photo taken pretending you're working in the world’s most famous desk job.
It’s a great way to take in the majesty of this amazing room without the stress and pressure of actually being President. Not that some of us wouldn’t do a pretty good job if given the chance!
