Kids of All Ages Love Balloons

Thanksgiving in the United States means being thankful for many things, big family get-togethers, eating too much, football, and—of course—the Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. Did you know that you can see the giant balloons being inflated the day before, and see all of your favorites as they await their big day?

There’s nothing like seeing these way-larger-than-life characters up close on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Although sometimes they look like captured giants under their nets and ropes, it’s the best way to get a perspective on how big they are and how much goes into the holiday spectacle.

One word of advice, though, if you plan on seeing the balloons. It gets very crowded, so it would be advisable to make dinner reservations in the area ahead of time to minimize any difficulties trying to eat among hundreds of families with small children trying to do the same.
