Wild animals are such characters. In their own environment, they are at home, and we are the visitors. On safari, most animals don’t even have a care that you’re there in your vehicle (or walking, if that’s your thing and it’s offered at the camp you’re staying at). Most of the time, they’ll just get startled and run away. But sometimes they are curious and want to stick around, but from a vantage point they think is best for them.
This silly waterbuck heard our vehicle approaching, and started to trot off. But it wanted to watch us, so it didn’t go far. In fact, it did a very small circle run from in front of this dead tree to just behind it. It probably only ran about 10 feet. But the funniest part was that it thought it was now hidden from us behind that little branch. And that look on its face! Oh, silly waterbuck.
